REDI PORT

The existing port at Redi is located along the Konkan Coast in Vengurla taluka of Sindhudurg district (15°45' N latitude and 73°39' E longitude). The site lies 85 km north of Redi and 150 km south of Ratnagiri. There are two barge jetties functioning in the port at present that are being used only for lighterage operations. Presently iron ore is being handled at Redi Port. The proposed site has got the advantage of being located immediately south of Rainy Point amidst the shelter formed by rocky projections.
The port is located in Sindhudurg Dist., about 205 nautical miles south of Mumbai. The Concession Agreement with M/s Redi Port Ltd., a constituent company of Earnest Group, was signed in February, 2009. The first phase of port project comprises of seven berths, attracting an investment of approx. 950 crores. This port is expected to handle about 33 MTPA, when fully operational. Detailed project report is under preparation. The Port is expected to be commissioned by the year 2012.

Pilotage is required since vessel operation at anchorage and vessel to enter day or night and anchor on it's own. On arvl, pls call Port Redi on ch.16 giving yr anchoring posn. If unable to reach Port Redi Control, then you may convey yr msg to us by email.

Vessel at this port work at outer anchorage where there are no draft/loa restrictions & vessel loading operationsto their full seasonal marks during fair season.

The tidal range is 2.3 M during Spring tide and is 1.0 M during Neap tide.

The Port has made it compulsory for all vessels entering Redi Port to have a valid P & I Certificate of Entry. The insurance cover for wreck removal and pollution damages should be covered by a P & I Club. Master to have original of P & I Cert. on board which is to be made available to Pilot for perusal. Same should be valid. Owners / Disp. Owners required to fax prior arrival of vessel the scanned copies of such certificates duly signed by the issuing authority.
