Anchorage area within Tuticorin port limits is available depending on the arrival draft and with due consultation with pilot station master can anchor in the preffered area well away from the channel.

(2)** Vessels drawing in excess of 10.70 shall be berthed at during high water only.

(B, C) This berth is dedicated to receiver TTPS / TANGEDCO. These berth has hoppers and convery belt system at warph. Discharge of cargo is by Ship gears only and no shore crane available. A min vsl crane boom length of 27m is required with Hydraulic grabs only for safe dumping of cargo into hoppers in these CJ1 & 2 Berths. The Hoppers are of 10.5 m height from the berth platform and the Sea level is 4 m from the berth platform with a + or - 1.0 mtr as max low / high tide level.

(D) This Berth is a dedicated berth for the receiver Neyveli Tamilnadu Power Ltd., Tuticorin. This berth does not attract Berth hire for the entire stay of vsl. Discharge of cargo is by 2 x shore Gantries fitted with hoppers and grabs and cargo transfer by conveyor belt system from warph to plant. Gantry is 40 mt SWL with 20 CBM grabs.
PORT LAYOUT


PORT REGULATION
a. Garbage disposal is NOT compulsory.

b. Any deep draft vsl berthing at berth 9 has to lighten till 10.7 or 9.3 m and must shift to other berth to give way for deep draft vsls berthing. This is self shifting on that vsl a/c.

c. 9th berth has 2 x 120 mt SWL - 32 CBM grab / 18 CBM grab fitted cranes are present. Hoppers / conveyor belt system is fixed in this berth to transfer Coal to the coal plot to be used by the receivers compulsorily. Both cranes has to be hired by all vsls and must give a productivity of 28000 mt for coal basis port circular through out the stay of the vsl at berth 9. This crane hire is normally to the cost of the receiver or basis the sale contract. If required this cranes can be moved to any other berth if the same is free at berth 9. If there is no following vsl for berth 9 the present discharging coal vsl will not be permitted to shift to other berth as per port circular. Clean cargo vsls not using the conveyor will get shifted to other berths upon reaching draft 10.7 or 9.3 m. if the discharge norms is not attained berth wise / cargo wise penal berth hire of 3 times applicable for the extra stay of the vsl at the respective berths.

d. For a better turn around of the vsl the stevedores must engage max number of gangs equal to the no. of hatches the cargo available onboard from berthing till completion. They can hire any of the 3 nos. TRF shore crane (8, 10, 12 CBM grab fitted) at berth 3 & 4.

e. If any clean cargo bulk vsl is berthed at berth 8 - the container terminal the vsl has to pay 44.81% of addl berth hire to port basis the terminal revenue share with port.

f. Berths where Port has not provided shore crane facility a 20% rebate on berth hire is applicable for the entire duration of the vsl at that berth. (Berth 9, 8, 5 & 6 )

The berth occupancy for each vessel will be determined based on the output norms as given below for levy of penal berth hire charges as per the New Berthing Norms, 2016.

Notes:

(i) If a ship stays within 5% (higher or lower) of the stipulated time for that commodity as specified above, then no penalty/incentive will be levied/paid.
(ii) In cases where actual berth stay is more than 5% higher than the stipulated time for that commodity as specified above, number of additional hours spent at berth will be penalised at 3 x berth hire.
(iii) In cases where actual berth stay is more than 5% lower than the stipulated time for that commodity as specified above, number of additional hours saved will be incentivised at 1 x berth hire.

The Performance norms will be revised every quarter during the first year until the target norms for commodity are reached. Subsequent revision will be done yearly or upon up-gradation of berth infrastructure and conforming to directions of Ministry of Shipping, G.O.I.
